Baby K On the Way: November 2018

5 Months Old - 10/29/18

Stats: 12lbs 8oz

Feeding: He is eating 4-5oz bottles every 3-4 hours. He is getting whatever milk I can pump and then the rest is formula. He's eating great and is happy with the bottles and tolerating formula fine, so we are all happy with where we are at.

Sleeping: Tyler is sleeping so much better at night. Once he got passed the 4 month sleep regression, Tyler is sleeping so much better at night. He has a bath, then jammies, bottle, and rocking and he goes down around 8:30. He typically wakes up somewhere between 3-5am for a feeding then goes back down til 8 or 9am. He has some nights where he is up more, but I think he is on the right track for almost sleeping through the night.

Likes: standing upright while being held, chewing on everything, playing with his feet, watching and reaching out to his puppies

Dislikes: this whole teething business and getting his nose wiped

Sizes: in 3 month clothes and moving into 3-6 month
Size 2 diapers

4 Months Old - 9/29/18

Stats: 11lbs 4oz

Feeding: Tyler has gone on a boobie strike this month. We thought it was because he began teething and his mouth was hurting, and we went to a great lactation consultant and tried some different things, but it just ended up being a lot of stress, frustration, and tears for us both. I decided that if he prefers a bottle, there is nothing wrong with that, and we are both much happier. He is getting the milk I am able to pump and is supplementing with formula. He's eating 3 oz bottles every 3-4 hours.

Sleeping: We moved Tyler into his own room this month! He started in the Rock and Play for a few nights, then we moved him to the crib. He has done great in his room. We are all sleeping more soundly. He has been sleeping 4-6 hour blocks at a time at night and getting a bottle when he wakes. He was only waking up 1-2 times a night, but he is now going through the dreaded 4 month sleep regression and he is waking up frequently, and only wants to sleep if I am holding him. He will only nap in 20 minute increments during the day, which is tough, but he just doesn't want to miss anything!

Likes: Being upright and sitting up, music, chewing on his hands, playing peek-a-boo

Dislikes: Being alone

Sizes: in 0-3 month clothes

Size 1 diapers

Tyler got to meet his new baby bestie Axel (my bestie's son)! I can't even put into words how full my heart is to see these two sweet boys together. The boys are 11 days apart and will be great friends who grow up together.

We went on our first trip as a family of 3 this month! We went for a long weekend getaway with all of our cousins and it was a blast. Our cousins vacations have changed a bit with 6 kids ages 3 and under, but the kids were so good and everyone enjoyed it.

Tyler also had his first trip to the zoo!

And we FINALLY finished the nursery-- better late than never ;)
